詹天佑 字眷诚。年五十六岁。生于广州。已婚。子五女三。永久通信处。汉口鄂哈街九号。初学于上海出洋局。同治十一年。以官费游美。光緖四年。入耶路大学。习土木工程。光緖七年。得学士学位。被选入某名誉学会。以数学成绩得奖。光緖七年。囘国。肄业福州船政局水师学堂。光緖八年。毕业。任该校教员。光緖十年。任霞浦官立学校教员。光緖十四年至民国元年。历任京张铁路及诸路总工程师。副工程师。分段工程师。驻理工程师等。宣统三年。任粤汉铁路广东分局长。民国元年。任川粤汉铁路会办。民国三年。任该路督办。前清授进士。民国给予二等三等嘉禾章。由香港大学赠与文学博士学位。为英国土木工程师学会会员。美国工程师学会会员。中国工程师学会会长。著有华英工学字汇。及京张铁路工程纪略。两书均中国工程师学会出版。现时通信处。汉口川粤汉铁路总公所。
